Relationships, Sex, and The Self
I'm Kate. I'm a trauma therapist, sex therapist, and Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in relationships, sexuality, intimacy, and the Self. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent over 15 years as a bodywork practitioner and that foundation lives in everything I do. I don't treat the body and the mind as separate problems. They never were.
I come to this work as a fellow traveler. I'm direct, I'm steady, and I'm not afraid of your pain. What I offer is a space where nothing is off-limits and nothing has to be rushed.
I both believe and believe in my clients.
My Approach
My work is rooted in somatic and systems theory. I pay close attention to how your lived experiences and relationships live not only in your mind, but in your body, connecting physical experience with emotional pain and psychological distress.
This work is grounded in Organic Intimacy Theory, a framework I developed from years of clinical practice at the intersection of somatic psychology, relational therapy, and nervous system science. OIT understands intimacy not as something you perform or achieve, but as something that emerges organically, through nervous system safety, attuned connection, and the relationship you have with your own interior.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Specialized Training
My clinical work draws from several modalities, integrated through the lens of Organic Intimacy Theory and shaped by what each client's nervous system needs in the room.
I am fully trained in EMDR, trained in Level 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and a practicing sex therapist and member of AASECT. I am also a medical plant advocate, offering psychoeducation and appropriate physician referral support for clients exploring plant-based approaches as part of their care.
Together with nearly two decades of bodywork practice, this training reflects a career built around a focus on understanding how intimacy develops, how it is experienced in the body, how it is expressed, what disrupts it, and what makes it possible again.
My Community
I am a Louisiana native and have called Lafayette home for over 20 years. I am deeply committed to improving the mental health landscape in this community, offering therapeutic services for individuals, couples, and groups.
